More than grades

Outside the classroom you’ll have endless opportunities to try new things and build valuable life skills. We devote one afternoon each week to enrichment activities, where staff and external providers help students to engage in our 5 ways to wellbeing: connect, be active, keep learning, give and take notice.

You can try a range of physical activities such as self-defence, yoga, football, walking, running, dance, fitness, tennis, netball, cricket, basketball or working out at the local gym. You’ll have opportunities to organise community projects that tackle local and global issues, like reducing food waste, visiting residents in care homes or raising awareness around period poverty. And you can choose from a long list of recreational pursuits including gardening, cooking, art, mindful colouring or photography.   On top of this, we have built a programme of workhops for students focusing on 'Skills for Life' - wiring plugs, hanging shelves, cooking on a budget and finding the best insurance quote to name a few!  Download our booklet for a sample of what we offer.

Some students use their weekly enrichment time to support future career opportunities, such as teaching English as a foreign language, participating in the Bar Mock Trial Competition or the Young Reporter Scheme. Others volunteer at local primary schools, care homes and charity shops.
